Seven Reasons Everyone is Moving to Dallas, TX. Number 4 Will Shock You

Moving to Dallas, TX? Let me tell you that you really need to read this article to gain significant insights of what is it like to live in Dallas, TX.  Here you’ll find the top seven reasons why you want to move to Dallas, TX. Now, as each state in the united states, it has its pros and cons. For example, a lot of people complain that the heat is unbearable during summer. Others have compared the heat of Dallas as that of Las Vegas, NV.

People usually ask us why do we write about cities, states and places around the United States, and as you may guess, we are a licensed and insured moving company that provides relocation services to people and the military in the whole United States, more emphatically in the central, mountain, and eastern region of America. Thus, our capacity to share valuable insights about places people choose to move from or into, for various reasons.

Now, let’s dive into the basic reasons why you want to live in Dallas.

    Sports

This town is crazily overwhelmed by professional sports, to the point that you can find one of every single league. Football, baseball, basketball, hockey and even soccer; So you can root for your home team all year round. How cool is that? Now, if that’s not enough, they’re crazy about their high-school football, so bad that they made tv shows, movies and books about it.

One example of that, you can watch the TV show “Friday Night Lights”. But if you really want to understand it, watch “Friday Night Lights”, directed by Peter Berg in 2004, you can even read the book!

    Restaurants

Dallas has more restaurants per capita than any other city in the nation. These people love the eat out. Hm, let’s rephrase that, these people love to go out to eat. We look forward to this every single time we move someone to Dallas. Some of our favorite stops are Babe’s Chicken Dinner House and Mia’s Tex-Mex, Both phenomenal food. I don’t think I’ve ever had bad food at those places or bad service at either one.

Now, just like North Carolina, Barbecue in all of Texas is amazing. There’s one iconic place that represents the deliciousness of Texan barbecue, The Slow Bone Barbecue, on Irvine Boulevard. You can smell it from half a mile away, oh my goodness!

    Friendliness

People in Dallas pepper their sentences with sir, ma’am and howdy. It’s like the obligatory greeting; if you spend more than a week in Dallas, you’ll start getting that Texan drawl in no time. They’re very friendly folks. People from New Jersey might think this is kind of weird because they have a less friendly culture, per se. Now, if you’re coming from California, you might think this is a pleasant surprise, since their kindness is not fake as other places in the country. Now, if you’re moving from Oregon to Dallas, you’ll think this is normal, except for the “y’all” thing.

    No State Income Tax

I don’t even have to explain how cool that is because we all love keeping money for ourselves. Well, unless you are like a twenty years old worker at McDonald or some other place like that, who is so used to people swiping their cards, they forgot how to count money.

I say this because I remember giving this young lady a $100 dollar bill at Best Buy one day, and she stared at it for a minute, like if I gave her a beaver pelt, after staring at it, she finally sighed and said “okay”, like if she was getting ready to lift some weight or something. Anyhow, Texas is one of the handful states that has no state income taxes. Now, you might object “they have other taxes to make up for it”. Yes, but at least you don’t have to put up with state income tax at all!

    State Fair

Dallas is known for being home to the legendary state fair of Texas. A little side note to that, if you call it Texas State Fair, you could be corrected. I don’t know if that’s  big thing but it’s happened to me a couple times. This fair attracts about fourteen thousand visitors the opening day, it goes on for a while so there’s no need to go the first day. It’s too crowded. Now, what do they come for? They come for big Tex, of course! He’s a 55 foot cowboy mascot and the Red River Rivalry (it’s a bit of tongue twister, lol) but that’s a really good football game.

Now, this  is the other reason why people go, high fat fried foods, including deep fried Oreos and jello, Twinkies, pork ribs, chicken pot pie, mac’n cheese dip, etc.

It’s like if they had a mad scientist with a huge fryer at an underground bunker at the cotton bowl or something. Here you’ll never learn the dangers of cholesterol, it’s just strange.

    Jobs

The employment rate of Dallas is high. If you carefully read, I said, employment not unemployment. It is one of the best in the country.

Every month, it seems like if a big company is moving here. Manufacturing plants, headquarters, shipping hubs, etc. This city is corporate friendly, and it shows a lot of good jobs and a low cost of living. You can’t beat Dallas for that. If you can’t find a good job here, is because are part of the minority here. I’m sorry, I wouldn’t know what to tell you.

    Dallas’s Growth is Very Positive

Dallas is ranked fourth as one of the top ten move to cities in the U.S. When you take into consideration of the few things I’ve written about here, or the hundred of other things that I’m leaving aside, it’s no wonder that Dallas has become the go-to place for people looking for a nice city to move to.

On top of that, they’re building houses for the future. Not like Portland or other cities that have slowed the new home building process as people started moving in. This is a great way to keep home prices relatively down. Of course, this is compared to other major cities.
